Simulating the Consequences of Dangerous Driving

In order to maintain a safe working environment, it is important that the workforce understand and abide by the necessary rules in place.

Site safety measures and regulations are implemented to protect the workforce and visitors on site.

It is therefore important that these are taken seriously and also maintained to ensure a safe working environment and safety conscious workforce.

Below is an example of a creative approach to keep the workforce aware of the dangers of driving on and around site:

  • A simulated court case; ‘Death of a dangerous driver’, was held with an actor as the driver and a real judge and barrister to demonstrate the effects of such a procedure;
  • This was followed up with a further visit later by the actor/ driver to talk about the effects on his life that his conviction has had;
  • This provided a close experience to the consequences of failing to abide by site safety and how it could affect the employee.
