Site access and security

Site access should be clearly signed and protected to ensure safety levels remain to a high standard.

In the busy city centre of Exeter, the National House site team installed an intercom system. to ensure that only authorised personnel were able to gain access onto site.

The gate could be opened by inputting the correct 4 digit code. The code is communicated to all staff during their site inductions.

For all new members of staff and visitors that don’t know the code, the intercom system rings through directly to the site office where they can speak to a member of the site team and be buzzed in.

After working hours the keypad is brought inside the site hoarding to ensure that it cannot be vandalised.

The gate is also on a spring closer to ensure that it is kept shut at all times.
