A boot washing station was built on site by a work placement student from Boroughmuir Academy (JET Programme) utilising spare materials on site.
The concrete drainage ring was spare and was cut to size with an opening formed with the water tank being donated by the client.
Stormbloc crates were used to support the tank and recycled drainage pipe utilised for connecting to the rainwater pipe and storm drain.
The tank is filled using rainwater collected on the roof of our accommodation and the water is used for the boot wash and also for operatives to fill up dust suppression bottles.
The boot wash is connected to the existing storm drain that the rain water pipe is connected to and a silt trap has been fitted to stop any materials entering the storm drain.
