Site Digital Engineering

The site has created a digital model which links design information with current risks on site so that these can be viewed in the office in 3D.

The site has also digitised non-conformance reports and linked these to graphical (or non-graphical) data so that they are included in the 3D model. The 3D model also contains all benchmarks on the site and information is accessible via QR codes.

When taking pictures on site, engineers are able to use their (software enabled) smart phones to locate where and when the pictures have been taken and these can be locked directly into the site’s database, including any text.

The system also allows monitoring reports to be captured which includes their interrogation and notifying of trigger levels and this can be shared with third parties. The site is also trialling equipment which enables internal surveys (Matterport) from a single point and subsequently producing 3D drawings. All of this is under the banner of ‘Digital Engineering’.
