In August 2016, C405 Paddington held a very successful site open evening for local residents and stakeholders.
In total, more than 50 residents and people from the business community were taken around the Station Box by C405 staff to see the significant progress that has been made so far on the project.
For the residents, all they have seen for the last few years is the outer hoardings and have had very little knowledge of the complexities involved with such infrastructure.
Therefore, the evening aimed to improve local residents’ knowledge of the project and supply a brief summary of historic and future environmental mitigation.
In doing so we hoped to make them more accepting of the road closures, 24/7 working and works that might generate elevated noise, vibration, dust and light levels in the coming months.
The residents were delighted with very positive feedback, including:
“I’ve been wondering why it takes so long and now I know; it’s quite extraordinary.”
“Brilliantly organised and hosted event”
“Gave us an amazing insight on the process, challenges of the project and how it will look and operate.”
“Informative tour led by enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff.”
