Site security levels

Access points on site should be protected, to ensure that any risks to workers or the public are identified.

If necessary, security systems should be in place to monitor the safe entry and exit, to and from site.

Examples of how sites have monitored and maintained high levels of security include:

  • Electrified fencing;
  • Infrared CCTV camera which captured a five second video clip everytime movement is detected and is immediately relayed to a 24/7 monitoring station;
  • Security/armed guards;
  • Secure, lockable gates;
  • Pass-operated turnstiles;
  • Fingerprint recognition;
  • All staff were signed in/out and were security cleared.
