Site Tour for Job Centre Staff

In order to improve the perception of the industry and increase local employment on site, the Berkeley St Edward team at Hartland Village held a site tour for Job Centre staff working in the local area.

Following a presentation from the Project Director, the Job Centre staff were given a tour of the show homes, welfare and building site.

The range of career options within construction were showcased, as well as the working conditions on site. The feedback from the Job Centre team was very positive, with many of them previously not understanding just how many options there were for their clients or how dated their perceptions of the working conditions were.

The Berkeley St Edward team plan to hold these visits annually, to ensure that any new Job Centre staff are captured and educated about the benefits of working in construction.
