Smartzone Management Control System

MEWP has been fitted with a Smartzone management control system.

This control system uses a card reader (IPAF ‘Smart PAL or other approved Smart Card), which only allows approved persons to operate this machine – by touching their card on the reader. It is not possible to start the machine using keys alone.

Information is instantly downloaded, providing hours the machine is being used and by whom. It is also possible to get information on the location it was used.

As well as obvious safety benefits, there can be cost saving benefits through efficiency savings. The machine can be used by more that one contractor and charged based on specific usage. Reviewing machine usage could identify underutilised machine and influence redeployment vs on/ off hiring.
