Social Media and Construction

A social media policy simply outlines how an organisation and its employees should conduct themselves via the internet. It helps protect the company’s online reputation and encourages employees to also get involved in sharing about the company in their online networks.

Whilst this contractor appreciates the enthusiasm about the work that those involved in the projects are doing and the pride they take in this, it is important to be aware that as part of the Projects Communications Policy no project related photographs or videos of the working areas should be shared on social media unless issued formally by the Project Team and Head Office.

It was important to review this current status of the use of social media particularly due to the coronavirus guidelines to ensure that everyone is following the ‘keep safe’ strategy in place on this contractors projects and promoting safe working environments.

The project social media policy aims to guide, advise and inspire in best case scenarios.
