Staggered Working Schedules to Ensure Social Distancing

The company are key to establishing staggered working schedules in line with the Government guidelines on social distancing required under the Site Operating Procedures issued.

Based on the size of the site and workforce at Canary Wharf Contractor’s Wood Wharf project this is a real challenge. The company have managed to adapt their use of DataScope to set up and schedule a split working start and break times system.

Six separate shift and break timings are active and arranged based on contractor’s teams and location of works. The process is automated, and the operatives will be denied access by the system until their start times.

This example of best practice is just one way that projects can work to tackle the virus and reduce the spread. For full guidance and the latest Government advice read the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures.
