STEM Activities for Summer Programme

As part of Manchester Youth Zone’s initiative to provide activities for local children over the summer, ENGIE offered to provide weekly STEM activities for the children with an emphasis on construction.

The activities focused on using and developing soft transferable skills such as team work, working independently, problem solving and working to time frames, all important skills within the construction industry.

Over the course of four weeks, 45 children took part in Tetrahedron building, Snap circuits, building a Lego tower and using ‘Tubees’ to build a structure. All the children were happy to get involved, even the ones who were reluctant at the beginning.
