Subcontractor health and safety league

Developing new methods which help to improve the safety measures and attitudes on your site, is something that everyone involved within the industry should seek to encourage.

There is a range of different ways in which this could be done, for example, induction talks, competitions, toolbox talks, and so on.

Below is an example of how sites have combined a competitive league with a prize incentive to encourage continuous improvements:

  • A health and safety league was run amongst the sites subcontractors;
  • This was reviewed monthly with a £50 prize for the best one.

This scheme is a great way for subcontractors to boost their levels of health and safety, as they try to gain an edge on their competitors.
