Super learning day at local high school

Two of our STEM Ambassadors attended a local high school near to our worksite to take part in a Super Learning Day.

The aim of the visit was to introduce different professions to the Year 7 students and help them to understand what we do in our jobs, as part of a wider career awareness programme.

The first activity was called ‘What’s my line?’ This involved our Ambassadors initially being dressed in casual clothes, but bringing some props and clues. Rotating round the various classrooms and only able to answer “Yes” or “No”, each student group had two minutes to question our Ambassadors about what they did.

There was a competitive edge as the student groups had to decide what each of our Ambassadors did based on their probing questions. Our actual roles were revealed at the end in the assembly hall.

Other activities including designing and building a newspaper tower using newspaper, scissors and sellotape. There were prizes for the tallest, strongest and most artistic, with our STEM Ambassadors acting as judges.
