Supporting environmental initiatives: electric cars

Awareness of the local environment and environmental practices adopted within the community are important factors.

Sites should be aware of the various changing situations within society, so they can appropriately support and accommodate their workforce, visitors and the local community.

Efforts to support environmental initiatives to reduce fuel and carbon emissions should be exhibited by all sites.

Below is an example of how you can support local environmental initiatives:

  • The site researched the local community and discovered that they were concerned about pollution and the carbon footprint of local transport;
  • The site accommodated a large number of electric cars, by adding a recharging point to the visitor’s car park.
