Supporting the Local Police

Lending a hand to assist local authorities demonstrates a commitment to supporting the local community.

Community support can come in all forms, and the contractor’s capacity to offer assistance demonstrates a considerable presence.

Therefore when identifying an issue that may be a danger to the community, as well as their own operatives, it is important that the site takes the necessary steps to raise awareness amongst members of the community and even offer to help resolve the situation if possible.

Below is an example of how a site demonstrated their ability to overcome an issue in the local area:

  • The site identified there was a regular speeding problem on a nearby road;
  • After liaising with the local police, the site constructed a lay-by where a speed camera van could operate;
  • This was something the police could not afford and were very appreciative for, as it helped to resolve an issue they had genuine concerns about;
  • The new speeding restrictions would protect the site’s own workforce operating on or near the road as well as members of the public and visitors.
