Supporting the homeless within the local community

It is important to support and help the local community wherever possible.

Good levels of community engagement will represent your company in a good light and leave a positive lasting impression of the construction industry as a whole.

Below is an example of a site that provided an exceptional level of help to homeless ex-service personnel within the local community:

  • The site provided accommodation, food assistance, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, provision of furniture and white goods, bus season tickets, counselling, site clothing and fitted PPE, tool kits, practical experience, training, qualifications, CV writing and job applications as well as setting them up in Housing Association accommodation.
This innovation was achieved on an 18 week project, with a value of approximately £1.5 million.
