This contractor has used Bowdry which is a surface water removal machine, designed specifically to efficiently and effectively remove standing water from any surface. It’s main use is traditionally in sport where it is used to help take care of playing pitches. Using it in a construction setting is a new concept for the sector.
The machine uses no fuel or power to function, making it environmentally friendly and economical to use as part of a project. To use it, you simply run it over the pool of water and once the internal drum is filled remove and empty it. It has a four wheel chassis that evenly distributes weight, ensuring effective water removal is achieved whilst being safe for the person operating the machine. The machine can collect up to 60 litres of water per minute and due to it’s ergonomic design, can be stored and transported easily. It’s wide, durable foam roller efficiently absorbs the surface water without damaging the surfaces it’s used on.
When a construction project is open to elements and internal works are taking place, it’s a fast and effective way to clear excess water away. As a result, it provides a cleaner working environment that ensures works can continue without any hazard or disruption. The site team also ensure that the water gathered from the Bowdry is not wasted. Any water collected is gathered in a 1T cube and then used to suppress dust around the external perimeter of the site.
