Surplus health & safety equipment donated to assist developing nations

Balfour Beatty has recently donated around 60 working fire extinguishers to the International Fire and Rescue Association (IFRA). The donated extinguishers are to be sent abroad for reuse by IFRA who are a charity based in Fife who distribute redundant fire related equipment to third world overseas fire & rescue services, who can make good use of this essential equipment.

The donation was facilitated by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Heritage Trust who provided advice and guidance on a local charity that could make use of surplus fire equipment.

Fire extinguishers were sourced from Balfour Beatty sites in Tayside and North Scotland that were recently demobilised. The donation was coordinated by the Balfour Beatty Community Investment team as part of the Balfour Beatty Involved community investment programme.
