Sustainability Tea Break Talks

In order to increase environmental awareness on site, it was devised to undertake short, targeted training sessions on numerous environmental topics.

These were delivered by the Mace Sustainability team to Mace staff and subcontractors ‘Black Hats’, who then filtered this down to their staff.

The concept was to give brief and succinct training on challenges which were current on site, for example, delivering noise management training before and during the demolition phase of works.

This training was to supplement longer training courses which are undertaken far less frequently.

Tea Break Talks or TEABT’s were given once per week and aimed to be delivered within 20 minutes (approximately how long it takes to drink a cup of tea).

This meant we were giving operatives training in bite-sized chunks, while allowing them to manage this around their workloads.
