Sustainable Signage

This contractor is working with their subcontractors to meet their One Decade to Act goal of zero avoidable waste by 2030. One of the ways they are doing this is through opting for Proplex sustainable signage.

They made a change by eliminating the use of laminators and PVC signage and instead communicated this information at their monthly sustainability meeting. Paper (for temporary signage, eg: Safety Stand down information) and Proplex (all other signage) are the only signage permitted on this site.

In order to implement Sustainable Signage the following has been done:

  • Proplex bin option added to Online Waste Bin Request system, to allow subcontractors to order waste collection for Proplex only which will ensure waste segregation occurs.
  • Logistics subcontractor is re-using crate boxes to collect Proplex waste from working area. These crate boxes can be relocated by using pallet trucks. The Logistics subcontractor responsible for site signage will remove any non relevant Proplex signage. All Proplex waste, including signage is placed in a designated area, waiting for collection.
  • Paper signs (used for temporary signage) will be placed in paper bins distributed in office and canteen facilities.
  • Finally, the Proplex ClosedLoop product, once collected as waste, is fed back into their manufacturing plant as feedstock, saving valuable resources and ensuring a true post-consumer recycled product is made available. This requirement is built into their subcontractors contracts and will be used for signage moving forward
