Tagging System for Temporary Works

The site has been using colour coded plastic tags to identify the inspection status of every item of lifting equipment, chains, slings, shackles etc. for some time. They are fixed to each component used in every lifting operation, following validation of respective testing certificates and associated method statements, and they provide time restricted approval. This enables surety of equipment to be recognised by any observer, from a distance.

The project team, as a result of this, saw an opportunity to apply the same process to certain items of temporary works particularly those items such as formwork that are in a constant state of change. The process is to tag the formwork once it has been approved for loading so all individuals involved know there is a design check in place at all times.
