The Big Conversation

In November 2020 the project team carried out a week of events called ‘The Big Conversation’.

The aim of the week’s events was to set a fantastic foundation for building a safety culture on the project. This coincided with the launch of the ‘Safe at Heart and I care | You Count | We Matter’ strategy on the project.

It was also an opportunity to launch the next phase of the Learning Legacy Challenge on the project. Building on the ‘Safe at Heart’ strategy and the wish to leave a significant industry changing safety legacy, the Learning Legacy Challenge is an opportunity to showcase and share outstanding practice and learning in health, safety and wellbeing more widely across the industry.

The Big Conversation Week that was held in November included 26 online events, it resulted in 500 sign ups, 18 hours of content, with more than 220 people attending the events and more than 30 contributors.

The events that took place during the week were varied, covering initiatives including Mind wellness action plans, Fairness Inclusion and Respect (FIR), suicide awareness, modern slavery, building equality, designing with health safety and wellbeing in mind.

Overall, there was something for everyone during The Big Conversation Week.
