The Loyalty Scheme: Reduce Workforce Turnover

High staff turnover in the construction sector is not an unknown fact, nor are the costs associated with advertising for, hiring and training new employees on Health and Safety procedures while trying to maintain deadlines and high-quality workmanship. But how can we change that?

We believe we have come up with an idea that might help to reduce the turnaround. We have always believed that the more we invest in our people the more we will be awarded by their loyalty, hard work and “can do” attitude.

One such an investment was to promote a Loyalty Scheme where we financially award employees for every calendar year they had been working for us. We print the below certificate and display it on our “Well Being board” that is located at the staff area across the sites for everyone to see and be inspired to achieve the same award and recognition.

We currently award our employees £100 incrementally for every calendar year and as a result of that our staff turnaround has reduced by 40% reducing our hiring and training cost dramatically. We have employees that have been working for us 9 or even 13 years.
