Toolbox Talks

A toolbox talk is a short health and safety talk delivered to the workforce, which is focused on a specific site related subject, e.g. ‘fragile roofs.’

The messages are short and clear, with the aim to reinforce regular safety messages and continuously raise awareness. By delivering toolbox talks and sharing best practice in this way, this should help to reduce the number of accidents and/or incidents on site.

Theses talks are effective ways to reinforce short messages to the workforce, to help them to continuously improve and to raise awareness, such as:

  • Including a session on customer care, designed around feedback from residents’ customer satisfaction surveys;
  • Sessions covering the Considerate Constructors Scheme spotlight on campaigns, including, Spotlight on… Apprenticeships, cycle safety and language.
