The site are running a trial on a new set of gloves designed specifically for traffic marshals.

There is a lot of vehicle movement on the project and besides competency and all the other control measures in place, the site wanted something extra that could make a difference.

The chosen glove is rated at cut level 5. This provides the protection required for the amount of manual handling performed by the traffic marshals. The glove is red on the palm face and green on the knuckle face.

To a driver or plant operator, red means stop and green means go. When the traffic marshal puts his hand palm up, you see the red face of the glove and when calling for the vehicle to move forward the green side faces the driver. The site have received positive feedback from the traffic marshals.
