Using breathalysers to ensure that operatives are fit for work

The construction industry poses a number of safety risks to operatives, visitors and the general public.

Due to the nature of the construction industry, the work undertaken and the machinery used should be carefully planned and monitored.

Correct and updated training should be implemented and every precaution taken to ensure that your workforce is able to perform tasks within a safe environment.

Below is an example of how sites have ensured that their workforce are fully alert on site, thus reducing the chance of potential accidents occurring:

  • Breathalyser kits were issued to all on site to enable them to check whether they were fit for work, before they started off from home.
