Using Flocculation to Minimise Muddy Water Leaving the Site

The site team identified that their site is susceptible to soil runoff. This means there is an increased risk of muddy water leaving the site.

To resolve this, the site used biodegradable flocculants. These were placed within a stream of water that was produced by the construction activity.

The flocculants collected silt and soil as the water passed through it. Their effect can be seen in the above photograph.

This reduced the level of muddy water that could potentially cause issues within the surrounding area of the site.
