Using selfie sticks to improve safety

A number of challenges often face the workforce on a day to day basis.

Careful consideration should be given to each work environment and measures implemented to overcome any obstacles faced.

Safety improvements and ideas should be constantly sought.

Below is an example of how a site adopted a simple but highly effective solution to overcome a challenging situation on site:

  • The site had multiple street furniture mounted monitors that required regular readings taken;
  • Two operative teams and use of equipment to work at heights was required;
  • A selfie stick was adapted to allow a single operative to photograph and record readings from ground level, improving the safety of this process.
