Utilising a Project-Specific Website

All site-specific information should be effectively communicated to employees.

This will help to ensure that everyone is fully aware of delivery details, any potential risks and hazards, as well as establishing a safety conscious culture on site.

Below is an example of how sites can use the internet to effectively communicate:

  • A project specific website was established, designed to book deliveries and inductions;
  • The induction booking form included details of the required PPE and competency certificates;
  • Parking information was also provided;
  • CSCS cards could be uploaded in advance, as could safety risk assessments and method statements;
  • Candidates for induction that did not pre-book would not get inducted or allowed access to the workplace.

This ensured that inductions can be focused and effective, as a lot of the administration was completed in advance online.
