Vibration Warning Ties

Repeated exposure to excessive levels of vibration from hand-held power tools can cause serious medical conditions for construction operatives. Considerate constructors who value their workforce’s health and wellbeing will ensure this risk is monitored. See the examples below for how one site addressed this issue:

  • The site purchased vibration warning cable ties.
  • The durable and flexible ties easily attach to tooling without additional fixings.
  • They are colour-coded to help control the risk of excessive exposure to hand arm vibration – the green tie represents low vibration (below 5m/s2), the orange tie represents medium vibration (5-10m/s2), and the red tie represents high vibration (above 10m/s2.)

This simple and cost-effective method alerts operatives to the relative danger of individual tools, ensuring they can easily identify which tools should not be used for prolonged periods of time.
