Virtual Programme for Foundation Apprentice Civil Engineers

As part of community engagement on this project, the contractor are working with North East Scotland College to support 9 Civil Engineering Foundation Apprentices on a bespoke virtual work placement project which runs in 2021.

During the project, students have completed a series of civil engineering research activities including a piling solutions task connected to ongoing works at Union Terrace Gardens, a research task into a maintenance project and a design project connected to a funicular railway project.

As well as completing monthly engineering challenges, students have met virtually with the contractors graduates and project managers to receive feedback on their monthly reports and to ask further questions about their tasks.
