Virtual Reality Training MEWP Simulator

NationWide Platform’s new virtual reality simulator was used on the Paddington Crossrail C405 Project. This comprised a MEWP Basket set up, VR Headset and the use of a TV Screen.

The MEWP allows the user to operate the MEWP in different construction set ups with over 16 boom and scissor scenarios. The set up allow operators a true-to-life look and feel of operating an access platform in a safe and controlled environment using this ground breaking technology.

The controls and MEWP set up are based around actual control set up and scores the operator on their performance.

This kit can be used to enhance training on use of MEWPS but is also an insightful experience for those who do not operate MEWPS to understand the hazards and obstacles a MEWP operator faces.

The use of VR can be immensely useful in providing a safe environment for training in high risk environments.
