The site is aiming to remove excessively worded Risk Assessments and Method Statements. We have done this by developing a visual task sheet template which is being used by all parties on site.

This initiative ensures workers are kept up to date with changes to working procedures in a clear and accessible way.

The Visual Task Sheet system has since been improved through the introduction of a user development tool. The tool developed is a user friendly IT based system that enables all levels of staff and operatives to develop visual task sheets by working through a number of selection tabs.

It helps users by utilising prompt boxes, has links to key information including HSE data, and information is communicated through the use of a selection panel of logos/symbols that identify the health and safety information which can be highlighted as relevant to the task.

Since the tool was introduced, the design and format of the tool has been adapted for use.
