The Site Managers employed for this project were finding the procedural requirements on this contract difficult, due to finding it difficult to type at speed. The amount of information to be recorded in the site diary across numerous blocks was proving to be a challenge, even without spending an inordinate amount of time at the computer.
The Project Team decided to develop a mobile app that would be user friendly with an aim to reducing the time spent on the computer and at the same time increasing the Manager’s presence on site.
The voice activated site diary enables the users to speak directly into their phone or tablet with the transcript converted to words and recorded in a transferable format that can be filed onto the company system.
As well as giving the Manager the confidence to complete all of their duties in a timely fashion, the daily records are far more detailed than most with the added value of them being on site supervising tasks rather than being to the desk.
The records are a true account of the activities encountered in a chronological order. The benefits to all parties is evident and other site staff have now requested this system is introduced to allow them more time on site as well.
