War on Waste Personal Pledges

Construction as an industry (along with many other industries and the world as a whole) produces far too much waste.

To help tackle this issue, we have started a scheme called: War on Waste whereby personal pledges are made with regard to reducing, re-using and recycling with a view that the pledges are then passed onto friends and family.

My personal pledge is to look at ways to reduce or remove waste in every area. Electrical goods need to be made to last or repaired. Packaging on everything needs to be looked at, the list is endless. At the end of most construction projects is when most of the cardboard, plastics and polystyrene seem to appear, these need to be looked at either reduced or done away with.
