Wates Zen Garden

As part of our effort to not only provide a quiet space for our operatives to relax in, we have created our very own ‘Wates Zen Garden’.

The garden is available for subcontractors and staff to use to have some quiet time. It also contains information about mental health should this be of use.

When constructing the garden, we used a Social Enterprise company called Jericho who provided our fences and benches, which are made from recycled materials. We also planted flowers to allow wildlife to prosper.

Our theme for the garden was a ‘Bee Sanctuary’. We picked plants to encourage the attraction of bees to allow them to still be able to pollinate in our busy construction environment.

The Zen Garden will be donated to a school after the project completion as part of our lasting legacy.
