Welcome Site Information Packs

The project team are currently constructing a care home facility Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. Stornoway has approximately 8,000 residents and is located in the Outer Hebrides.

Whilst working with a high percentage of local labour, the project team were mindful of many operatives from the mainland working on the project, who had never travelled to the Western Isles before. The site team created a Welcome Pack and Site information Pack to help promote local business.

The welcome Pack includes; accommodation suggestions, local eatery’s, dry cleaners, supermarkets, butchers, taxi/car hire services etc.

Due to coronavirus, the island’s economy has declined so introducing the operatives to the local businesses will help to boost the islands economy again. Due to the works there has been an increase of local accommodation being used, restaurants and take away services have seen an increase in business. The site Information Pack includes travel advice which promotes eco-friendly practice such as walking and cycling.
