WEP Cards

Keeping track of all operatives’ training and qualifications can be a challenging task. In order to tackle this, we have worked with one of our contractors to develop WEP cards and a site specific app.

WEP (Working Enforcement Programme) cards are issued to all our operatives who complete the company’s Safety as Standard initiative, part of our comprehensive Workforce Engagement Programme.

We have designed them to incorporate QR codes that provide instant access via smartphones to our operatives’ qualification certificates and training records, allowing for both detailed safety audits and random on-site checks instantly. The process is efficient, paperless and completely transparent.

In addition, we have introduced a similar action on the rear of the cards to report a near miss. This simple process includes taking a photo of the issue and sending it direct to their safety team at HQ.

Finally, we use the QR codes on the cards through our bespoke site app to clock operatives in and out of site – producing a live feed to our contractor’s head office and automating the payroll process for their accounts team.
