World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is coordinated annually by the International Labour Organisation.

This day focuses on emerging trends in occupational safety and health and how to reduce the number of work-related injuries, diseases and fatalities worldwide.

To support the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on your site, you could do the following:

  • Encourage operatives to undertake relevant and regular health and safety training;
  • Run a specific health and safety campaign on this day;
  • Use posters and interactive question and answer sheets to highlight specific health and safety issues and encourage workers to think about their own health and safety, as well as colleagues and visitors;
  • Offer small incentives, such as vouchers or a paid for breakfast, to encourage operatives to feedback potential health and safety improvements.

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work took place on 28th April 2019, to find out more about this event click below.
