Zenobe PowerSkid Hybrid Generator

This contractor has partnered with energy storage specialist Zenobe to help provide clean power for construction sites by utilising second-life batteries (refurbished electric bus batteries) and transforming them into portable batteries.

They will be supplied with 20 portable batteries to be used as temporary power sources that run as a cleaner alternative to diesel generators. One battery unit can store approximately 150kwh of energy and can also connect with the local grid to provide power across a variety of applications, including construction and lifting solutions.

When the HVO fueled generator is partnered with the PowerSkid they saw a drastic saving on fuel usage in the hire period whilst awaiting their mains connection. This also meant that they did not have to have generators running through the night to keep the cabins operational for night guard, CCTV systems and welfare facilities such as drying rooms and fridges, thus mitigating a major nuisance to the local residents on a night time.
