Considerate Constructors Scheme

Topic Progress:

The Scheme aims to eradicate inappropriate behaviour and the use of offensive language in the construction industry, so it is important that the Scheme leads by example and promotes values of respect and equality.

With this in mind, anyone representing the Scheme should adopt these values as part of their conduct and behaviour.

Examples of good conduct and professionalism include:

  • Treating all people with the same level of respect.
  • Listening to others’ values, opinions and contributions.
  • A positive, polite and encouraging attitude.
  • Not talking over or interrupting people.
  • Not being dismissive or patronising.
  • Not using discriminatory language.
  • Not using inappropriate language, such as swear words.
