Sustainable Hoarding Solution – EnviroHoard™

At the Royal Brompton Hospital, Kier Construction London as a way of implementing closed loop recycling, used hoarding which is manufactured from recycled post-production uPVC and is fully recyclable at the end of its natural life.

EnviroHoard™ is used in place of plywood hoarding and saves the deforestation of trees for an application that is equally satisfied using uPVC solutions.

The hoarding installed at the Royal Brompton Hospital supported Kier Construction Group’s policy of improving energy efficiency by 30% by 2030.

Matthew Davis, Project Manager at Kier Construction said:

“EnviroHoard™ not only helps us to meet our ambitious environmental targets, it also has real practical benefits. The panels needed to sit on top of a retaining wall with a 4m drop on one side. As EnviroHoard™ is installed from the rear, it eliminated the need for a partial road closure and the hiring of aerial platforms (MEWPS) which saved traffic disruption and cost and a further benefit was that the works did not have to take place at night.”
