It is important that your site and workforce presents a professional image of both your company and the industry as a whole.

It is therefore essential that operatives’ appearance on and around site is appropriate, to project an image of professionalism.

Many sites introduce initiatives to ensure that their workforce appears clean and well-presented both on and off site.

Below is an example of how this can be achieved:

  • A sports bag was provided to encourage all operatives to wear clean clothes when travelling to and from site;
  • A full length mirror was placed at the entrance/exit of the site, next to a full size image of a smartly dressed operative;
  • A clothes brush on a length of rope was attached nearby to encourage operatives to brush down their clothes to remove dust and dirt;
  • Pegs were provided at the site exit in order to leave PPE behind;
  • A laundry service was made available to launder work clothes, promoting the idea of changing on site and wearing better clothes to and from work;
  • One company provided full workwear to include various tops, work trousers, boots, wet weather gear and even thermal underwear.
