GRAHAM partnered with Wellness experts (Support2Perform) and Queen’s University Belfast to develop a wellbeing programme that complements personal development and provides staff and managers with individualised plans and support.
Each person does a wellbeing diagnostic followed by confidential 1-2-1 sessions with a coach to understand the results and plan a way forward. As part of fulfilling their plan, employees can then access additional wellbeing experts to meet their individual resilience needs e.g. nutrition, exercise or sleep.
During 2017 we carried out a pilot with 10% of the workforce across all employee types. Following a full review from participants we made a number of improvements and are rolling it out to all employees during 2018/19.
Senior management have been integral to the development and implementation of the programme. Effective employee engagement and wellbeing targets are key KPIs built into the business planning process. Senior Management have been active participants in the design and continuous improvement of the programme and the Board Directors co-led senior manager workshops with the wellbeing expert team to ensure the programme would gain traction and meet the needs of employees.
Crucially, every senior manager within the organisation volunteered to participate in the pilot programme and to act as an advocate for others. The programme was given high visibility and communication within the business with Senior Managers acting as role models and mentors for more junior participating employees.
