Welfare for Wellbeing

Psychological studies have shown that being exposed to nature is one of the most important health buffers for both physical and mental wellbeing. Research found individuals exposed to images of nature had the same positive effects as those who were close to woodlands, rivers and green/natural spaces.

The effects include reduced anxiety, depression and stress. It also increased engagement and resilience.

We took the outdoors indoors by creating a green space for workers in the most built up urban areas of London, which is having a remarkably positive effect on overall wellbeing.

The walls in the welfare canteen are covered with full height vinyl prints of a woodland theme.
