Brownie Group Visit

Women in the Berkeley St Edward team at Hartland Village, Fleet, visited a local Brownie group (aged 7-10 yrs) to talk about the project and the huge variety of careers in construction. We played a game which involved busting lots of myths about the industry and made sure that they knew it wasn’t just for boys!

The group have recently done a ‘Girls can do anything’ theme, and this term are doing their ‘Live Smart’ badge, which is all about learning skills to be successful in life. As part of this they have run a “tool school”: learning about the right tools for the job and DIY.

The girls asked lots of questions and were particularly excited about becoming apprentices!

This session was a great way to tackle negative perceptions of the construction industry and inspire a new generation.
