A local memorial garden had become overgrown encouraging anti-social behaviour, and preventing people using the public space as an area of reflection.

Overgrown vegetation was hiding most of the paths and paved areas, benches had become overgrown preventing use, and there was significant volumes of litter and debris.

Two of our maintenance operatives spent time clearing the area of empty beer cans and bottles, trimming vegetation and sweeping the area.

Four pick-ups worth of debris and vegetation were removed. With the hazards removed and the area returned to a more welcoming environment, the completed work drew praise from passing members of the public, as our team tidied up and prepared to leave the site.

The work undertaken here makes a contribution to our commitment to improve the image of construction by giving something back to the community and in this case, ensuring local people can use this community asset again for what is was intended for.
