This project consists of the construction of student apartments housed in 4 blocks ranging from 7 to 9 floors in height with a construction programme of 20 months.
Whilst reviewing the coronavirus site preventative measures, they engaged with their cleaning contractor to investigate available products and solutions which could improve their sanitising procedures. When researching they discovered a hydrostatic sprayer which is used to disinfect surfaces.
It passes a small electrical current through a solution of water & salt which creates a liquid with a negative ion charge which is then sprayed onto surfaces. Independent research has shown it is 99.999% effective against all forms of microorganisms with a very fast contact time and virtually no regrowth.
It is used daily by the onsite cleaner, on all surfaces and touch points, and avoids the requirement for the cleaner to touch surfaces.
It is also environmentally friendly as the site no longer purchases chemical cleaning products or their plastic containers.
