Improving Site Visitor Experience

As a considerate constructor Heron Bros is committed to improving the safety of all our employees and site visitors.

To ensure site visitors are fully informed and safe at all times, Heron Bros introduced a pre-visit information pack and site visitor pass.

The pack is designed to prepare the site visitor and ensure their visit is pleasant and safe. The pack includes project information, travel guidance, and specific information about the upcoming visit. It allows site visitors to familiarise themselves with important safety rules and code of conduct before stepping on site.

The pack contains:

  • Directions to site and the green travel plan with alternative sustainable travel options
  • Site access and parking instructions
  • Arrival and departure instructions
  • Information on works that may affect their journey or visit

When the visitor arrives, signs in and receives their site induction, they are given their site visitor pass.

The pass provides a confidential record of the visitor’s medical conditions and their emergency contact that the visitor completes and retains, unless there is an emergency.

The pass also communicates Heron Bros’ emergency procedure and contact to the visitor. By wearing the pass, the visitor indicates to all site employees that they are a visitor who is allowed on the construction site.
