Site Speed Trap

The Kier Construction IKB Wellsway team set a strict 5mph speed limit on site with the use of proprietary signage and a speed gun.

Used primarily at times when there was a high turnover of lorry movements such as during large concrete pours and when muckaway lorries were on site.

Any driver found to be speeding was given a toolbox talk relating to the issue and their respective management was informed.

Due to the site being in close proximity to a school and elderly residents, the site management were keen to impose a strict site speed limit and enforce it with stringent and strong actions.

Slow moving traffic was also mutually beneficial for the reduction of dust travelling to resident properties, which were located immediately adjacent to the site.
